REPURPOSING OLD GROWTH TIMBER

Our nation's infrastructure was largely achieved via the harvest of old-growth forests. In every town or city in America we find structures built with large old-growth timber. It is a remarkably durable, excellent material. It also happens to be unavailable to us for at least 500 more years and then only if the timber industry changes its rapid-grow, monoculture practices.

While pieces like this do not suit large production runs, they are an irresistable exploration for the sustainably minded me.
